Doug, Peggy, Vicki, Brett, and Jane (what a diva!)
One of my grandmothers used to call me 'Queenie'. Imagine that. I have to laugh because I am looking at some pigtures on my wall next to this computer and start laughing because if I dare to post the most current one, you would laugh, too. I'll think about it. It was taken back in 2006 and it serves them right for not getting together more often. I will start with us kids. Our oldest sister, Vicki, passed away in February of 1987 due to complications from gall bladder surgery. She was so kind and thoughtful.....always looking out for us and especially me. My Mom never let me forget how many nights that Vicki would hold me and rock me because I had colic for about 6 months. I prefer to think it was because I was 'Queenie'. She was a teacher at Agua Fria HS in Avondale. She was taken away (out of our lives) so young (41) but she was the smart one and the first to graduate from college. It made our parents so proud because she was getting her degree in teaching and our dad got his degree in Socialology. They both graduated the same night and got to sit next to each other. Cool. I miss her still. The night she passed away - I was in another hospital recovering from a hysterectomy problems and didn't get released until late. I was sore and tired but headed over to the hospital where Vicki was. I was the last one she had to see. She held out just for me. She looked at me and smiled and tried to speak, but I couldn't understand what she was saying. My other sister, Peggy, had been translating because she could understand more or less of what she was trying to say. The end was near. I told her we would come back the next day and visit and get things right. We got home and I had just made to bed, totally exhausted. Lee answered the phone..........I know in my heart, that her last words to me were 'Queenie'. Happy pigtrails to you, pinkpigy@aol.com and/or http://www.janerappleyea.stampinup.net/
