Sister time

A couple days ago I was talking with my sister (Peggy) on the cellphone. First, I always start our conversation out by asking if she was sitting down, phone plugged into the charger, gone to the bathroom, ate something..... now we are ready for our conversations.

We usually get our main stuff out of the way - husbands, kids, grandkids, great grandkids (none for me), her diabetes, etc.  She had to get some special shoes because of her feet and I asked how that went. She doesn't like them but they seem to be working for her. She said they look like Mickey Mouse shoes. So I told her to put stickers on them. Dress them up and then show the shoe place what she had done. A new invention perhaps???  I told her I put my shoes on when I first get up and keep them on all day; they keep my feet warm and help me to walk better and keep my feet from getting dirty and heel cracked.
I wear Easy Spirit which I think is Naturalizers. Anyway, I had to give my two cents of how shoes should feel comfortable when you try them on. It works for me.

Somehow the chat turned towards how smart we are. Now, that was a good one!  We both agreed that our grandkids are way smarter than we seemed to be. I asked her if our Mom thought we were smart. Well, silence for a second and then I said for two of us five --- yes. The other three - well..... we both started laughing. She said I used to lie all the time - well, that got be smarter in a different way.
I told her that a couple people thought I had a high IQ. I don't. Maybe in one of the categories of the high iq life. I think it was because I had been around people most of my life. I prefer to think of me being a little on the psychic side. We had to laugh at that one too. So, our next conversation lasted about thirty-forty minutes (maybe longer). How many socks would you have to pull out of the drawer to get a matched pair? Two grown, over-60 woman trying to figure out how many it would take. Amazing....that blew the idea of a high IQ out of the water. I'm not sure if that problem was ever solved between us.

So, Peggy said she had to go and get dinner ready. Her husband would be home soon. I said okay but I wasn't done talking. She asked what I wanted to talk about and I said I couldn't think of anything just then but I know I had something to talk about. We talked about people in the stores and our impressions of others. I am so glad there are people out there who don't care what they look like out in public.
Okay, we both admitted we had gone to the store looking grodey. oouuuuuueeeee! Subject change.

Okay, my hand is stuck to the cellphone and my arm won't move. We have to hang up. I love you and will chat later.  Tell Dick hi. Tell Lee hi. I love you, too.
Time on the phone:  2 hours 22 minutes.  Not bad for nothing to talk about. Just checking in with each other.
