And the last of the great Ellis family

I am sort of sorry I started this family introduction thing. It's hard work and I want to get back to my stampin' things.  We are done with my family.  I won't even do this with my own family.

So, let's get back to sharing what I love.  My family, yes.  My love for stamping and crafting.  I retired a couple years ago from a job I dearly loved.  It was a structured job.... having to answer to people all the time; having to meet deadlines on everyone else's schedule; keep up with the most current information; and be places dictated by others.  I enjoyed that.  When I retired, I found an open door for doing something a little different.

Now, I don't profess to be the most creative, talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator but I have to give myself credit in growing in this field.  I am my own boss!  I do have deadlines but they are deadlines I manage and meet because what I have to turn in is something I want, not what others want.  I want to do this.  I feel good inside.... no knots in my stomach..... no worrying about that I didn't do well enough to please someone else.....  not needing to get dressed to go somewhere else each day.
My day starts when I want it to.   So, this thing (this company) has edged into my life and I love it.  It doesn't remove me from friends or family.  It actually strengthens me.  I get to interact with others and am able to see different viewpoints in life.   Share what I Love. Love what I do.

I just wanted to share this with you.  This is important to me.  As you are important to me as well.
I hope you find satisfaction in whatever it is that you like doing because I know I am finding satisfaction in what I am doing with Stampin' Up!.  Come join me on my pinkpigy@aol.com piglets team.

Me Again! We're done and ready to post cards and such

Here is a more recent pigture of the four remaining kids in our family.
I have to laugh because each one of us is unique.  While our parents weren't perfect models of a wedding couple they had almost 45 years together.  What a life!

Brother #2 Brett

Five out of the five us kids....Brett Cosby
He was the baby and always tended to be left out of things, but he just tagged along anyway.  He had pneumonia, Valley Fever, had to get glasses at a young age.  You know - things that kids back back then just weren't suppose to get.  He was a super good giving child.  Blond curly hair. He would give anything he had just to be around us.  We don't keep in touch hardly at all.  It's been a couple years.  Isn't that sad that we don't make the first move to connect. yep.  I heard through one our aunts that he had gone to Russia over a year ago.  Don't know what he's doing now.  I think about him alot.
What a cutie he was.  Gotta love the overalls!
Here's that fuzzy pigture look again.
Anyway, he is still my brother and love him dearly.  So, life goes on.
He and our brother Doug usually shared a bedroom. Boys in one and girls in the other.  One morning they were arguing about something and our Mom comes in and asks them what their problem is. Doug said "he says I fell out of my bunkbed last night and I know I didn't." Brett replied, "yes you did." A few bickerings back and forth later, my Mom turned to Brett and asked him what made him so sure Doug had fallen from his bed.  Brett looked at them and said "because I saw you go by."  How could you not laugh at that one.

Brother #1 - Doug

Okay, so I am back to family introductions.  I sure got sidetracked from when I finished introducing my sister, Peggy.  Doug is the third out of the five us kids.  His whole name is William Douglas and he is unique in his own way.  He could get me to believing anything he said or wanting me to do.  He loves to go back into times when we were growing up and having fun no matter where we were.  I keep in touch with him throughout the year and get together with him a few times.  I know that's not alot but for our family.  No one seems to make the time to get together.  We're so busy in our own lives.
Here is a pigture of him - taken years ago.   This ?Doug and his wife Karen - pigture is fuzzy or too  many drinks?  I could use the excuse that it's to protect the innocent. hahaha!
This one is a long time ago.  Pigture him now with silver hair!
I don't want to spoil his beautiful image.  He would like these.
So, Doug is really generous in today's society, but I remember when we were in high school (he was one year ahead of me) and he had this really cool '57 Chevy that he had painted a green color. He named her Hazel.  So, I was walking home from school and turned to see this car coming from behind me.  It slowed down next to me and he leaned over to the passenger side and just looked at me.  I started to get in on the passenger side but he pulled forward and looked away and drove on.  I was so mad at him, but that was the way he was back in the high school days.  He claims to this day he didn't do that and would never do that to his sister.  Yeah! Right!  Would you believe he was the mascot for Mesa Community College at one time?! Gotcha back big brother.  When we were kids, we were always getting into things. It didn't matter that we thought we were in trouble for going into gulch while the Army was doing their maneuvers or that Doug almost blew up our house by hiding explosives in his closet or that we were told not to go into the woods or that we were caught spying on the family that wore funny looking underclothes or not to run through the spray truck or chase the cows in the pasture.  NOPE!  We were a team and laugh at it all. And, what would Doug have to say to it all.......  Jane did it!   Visit again when I finish our family introductions with our baby brother Brett.   Thanks for stopping by.  pinkpigy@aol.com

I Did IT! Got my pre order in

So, There are so  many things I want to make using some of the neat products featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  If you are one of my Pinkpigy Club piglets or a customer of mine, you will be receiving your catalog soon.  There are 43 pages in this little booklet.  So, get ready to cruise and make your Wish List so you can start building your Stampin' Up! collection for the holidays.
Save a little here, a little there.  Here's a pigture of the front cover.
When it is available online, you can also go there and look through it (or maybe even look through the big Idea Book & Catalog).  What a great idea.  I apologize for the sideways image.  I have to figure out how to get it turned around without going back to my camera.

Poinker has his ears up so that only means one thing

                                                                    Poinker
He is in an expressive talking mode today.  He is asking if anyone wants to start a stamp club?  I told him I already have one, but he keeps insisting that I "OINK" out another invite to start a second one!  So, just a short note to any one of you out there in pigland who would like to join a fresh stamp club, let me know.  If you leave in and around the Phoenix area, this is the club for you! If you don't, the great news is you don't have to actually physically be here.  It would be like a "long-distance" stamp club.
6 members or less is $25.  8 members or more is only $20.00.  You would submit your order to me before club date and I will mail your (complete or non-complete) projects to you as soon as all club orders are received and placed. The best part is that each club member can be a hostess and that means receiving free stuff.  *note: amounts are prior to shipping/handling and taxes* Let me know at pinkpigy@aol.com

How cool is this?  I know you would just love to make the projects.  Usually two cards and a giftie type thing.  Thanks for stopping by and happy pigtrails to you, pinkpigy

The last day of July

Well, can you believe this is the last day of this month?  my oh my! where did time go? so quickly?
August brings a busy time for me.   Join me on Saturday, August 6th, 10 am - ?????  for a fun time of our first attempt at a Scrapbook Club (well, sort of).  I've decided to try a short time of making a layout (2pg) and then having everyone do their own croptime 'til the last one goes home.  If you want more information, contact me at pinkpigy@aol.com.  Time is flexible so you can just come in and go out as you please.  I will have retired items for sale and you can order current items here, too.  Just bring your own basic supplies (adhesive, glue, Sticky Strip, ruler, trimmer, scissors, hole puncher, glue dots, etc).  I will provide the other things to complete these pages. This is the layout we will be making. (note: I remember seeing something similar to this layout. I changed it a little and can't remember where I saw this. I was cruisin' through so many and I did this from memory of what I thought some of it looked like).
This card organizer is a kit I purchased from Andrea Walford maybe a couple years ago.  What a fantastic gift idea.
The insides are made from envelopes and decorated with each month so you can put your cards in each individual envelope and write names on the front corresponding to the dates.  Really, it is so cooool.
See where the punched half circle is on the right side of the envelope? The white part exposed is the envelope where your cards will go.  Then, a little velcro to close the flap over the envelope. And there you go.  I can sell these - already completed for $37.00 each or ready for you to assemble for $30.00. Kit includes printed out instructions*, 6x6 ring album, cardstock cut to size for the pages, envelopes, velcro, printed monthly pages, designer series paper, and embellishments for the pages (embellishments might vary than what is shown in pigtures).  Believe me! this is well worth the money for a gift anyone would love getting.  Contact me at pinkpigy@aol.com for more information.
*digital instructions are not available per terms of purchase

Make and Take from convention

This was one of the Make and Takes from convention. It is originally a fairly small card (longer and thinner) so I modified it to fit onto a regular 5.5" x 4.25" card.  I might be the only one to like it, but then, I like alot of things that others don't.  See the black and white banner?  Fabric. Believe it! I embossed the hearts so they have a shiny look to them.  The background on the More Mustard main card is using the Stampin' Around Snowburst wheel.  Give me an oink if you like it.
Here it is:

Gearing Up for August 1st

Oh my, I just cannot believe we are halfway through this year.  Piglet #1 and I are starting to compile our holiday projects for our upcoming craft fairs.  I am so excited and want to show you all kinds of things out of the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog. There are so many pages of wonderful products in this little book.  You are going to love them all.  I have just got to make a little more money so I can buy a lot of them to share with you.

I'm not sure I can show you a pigture yet.  So, you will just have to wait, but I need you to do me a really BIG! BIG! favor before July 30th.  That's 2 days away.

Put your serious face on and pay attention:  don't laugh! don't get mad! just work with me on this.
Oh, and sit down so you don't fall off your chair!

Go look in your Idea Book & Catalog and buy a few things through my online site.  See, you would be getting things you like and perhaps have wanted for some time (and there are probably a few things in the Summer Mini Catalog) and you would be helping me attain my goal. Don't make me go to the bank to get more money!!!!  oink, oink, oink.  That's Poinker saying "just do it".

Okay, okay, okay.  You are making fun of me, aren't you?!  Go ahead.  What are friends for anyway?

So, August 1st I will maybe post the pigture of the catalog. I have to check the rules first.

Well, til tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by.

LOOK WHO WENT TO CONVENTION

I kind of got ahead of myself.  Yikes! I'm just so excited I thought I should just get something on my blog before the Sheriff comes to get me (I mean Piglet#1, of course).

So, here a few pigtures of pinkpigy and piglet#1 -  we do get along very well.  Only a couple snorts. We blend together -  we had a couple shirts made and this is what they looked like. Our convention pigtures don't really show them that well.  Of course, a little on the blurry side.  The pig is from the Button Buddies stamp set.
Now, on to some more great pigtures -  Pam got into the swing of swapping
                                           pinkpigy and piglet#1
Pam walking the stage - strut it Suga! First time demonstrator
Laura, Barbara, and me walking the stage for recruiting.
Pinkpigy and Piglet #1 all dressed up in our matching shirts. Bee-u-tee-ful!
Me, the fabulous Ms. Shelli, and Pam
(I do not like these shirts - too thin).
Jen, me, and Chris in the Krewski Cafe. They own it and I have been there every year to see them.
More to see tomorrow.
So, just another pigture grouping and then back to cards.

Poinker the Oinker - he has some great things to say.

hmmmm.  he is so wise.  I just love him so much.  Right now he wants you to make sure you submit your reactions to my blog talk.  Give it a "snort" or give it an "oink". These are located at the bottom of each blog entry.

His ears are down when he is in a thinking mode.

His ears are up when he is in a talking and expressive mode.

Revved up! Back from a long vacation

Hello everybody out there in piglet land!  I have been away so long I hope I can remember how to do this blog thing.  My Piglet#1 has been on my back to get back into the swing of things here and now, I will attempt to make things right.

I (with Piglet#1 in tow) attended the Convention  this year and it was a blast.  We first had to get acclimated to the muscles and bones that we didn't use in a long time but after that, it wasn't so bad; just a lot of walking and standing and sitting.

Saturday, August 6th, I am attempting to host a Scrapbook crop2gether and am not quite in 'the positive thinking it will work out' mode but I have to give it a try, right?  Wish me well.  If it doesn't work out, I still have my one and only pinkpigy piglets stamp club.  I love them all dearly.  In fact, we were together this past Saturday.  It seems forever to get together, but when we do..... yippeee yi o!  We went back to the basics of stamping - embossing.  It sure felt good to review this technique.  Next month's technique will be stamping101.
Anyway, getting back to convention swaps -  look at these I made for swapping.  Who would believe me if I said I was in 19 swaps this year.  Yep!  I did a spreadsheet for us and it definitely kept us in tune with where we were suppose to be. Thank goodness for that!
Here a few of my swaps I was in. I will try to post more as I go along.

this is my 3x3 love note swap with Virginia Killmorethis was my Early Bird swap with Jozette C.

this was my black and white swap that I hosted. I will post more of the black and white (Audrey would be so proud of me). Black and white is so stately and elegant. Love it.  I am honored to be asked to host it again next year.

this is the WOW! technique swap I did with Joan B. Cristo. The technique is reverse stamping. The little Scottie stamp only faced to the left and I stamped it on a piece of acetate and made the other Scottie so it faced the original. How cute is that?

So, I will close for now.  I am thinking I might go to the Henderson NV Regional in August.  I better register if I can.

I also managed to be invited to join in a HMC swap after convention, so maybe either we all got invited or my swap was just that good.

Got to go eat on an ear of corn or just slop around in the mud.  thanks for stopping by, pinkpigy

Two jokes to start your day

Poinker got in a joking mood this morning and would not let up on his oinks until I told a joke or two. These are clean and I don't want any comments like "aaawwwww".

Joke #1:
This horse walks into a saloon and the bartender asks, "why the long face?"  Get it? Horses have long faces anyway.
(I have to put duct tape over Poinker's mouth to keep him from oinking his laughs so loud.)

Joke#2:
There are these 3 ropes standing outside a saloon and they are thirsty and want to go in for a drink. One rope says, "I am so so thirsty, I'm going to just rope right in there and get a drink."
The second rope says to the first rope, "You can't go in there. That bartender just don't like us ropes and he said the next time we go in there, he is going to throw our rope behinds right out of there."
The first rope says, "I don't care. I'm going in."
Well, just as fast as he goes in, he gets thrown out by the bartender.
The second rope says, "I told you so."   A little time goes by and the second rope said he was thirsty and he didn't care and that the bartender is not going to tell him he can't have a drink.
So, in he goes.  It wasn't just a second or so later and out he is thrown with the bartender yelling, "I told you we don't want no stinkin' ropes in here. Stay out!"
Well, by this time, all 3 ropes are dying of thirst.  Finally, the third rope told the other two ropes that he was going in for a drink.  He tossels his rope hair, gets a mad rough=tough look on his rope face and slinks toward the saloon. The other 2 ropes tried to talk him out of it, but he didn't listen.
The first rope said, "okay, we'll see you in a few seconds when the bartender throws your rope behind out."
Off the third rope goes into the bar.  Nothing happened. The other 2 ropes looked at each other and wondered where he was.  A little more time goes by and still the third rope was in there.  Finally, after a longer while, the third rope comes ropin' on out.
"Aaaahhhh! that sure hit the spot. Sooo gooood.", he said to the other ropes.
"Hey! Now, how come that bartender didn't throw you out of there. He don't like ropes." asked the first rope.
"Well, I just roped in there and the bartender looked at me and asked me if I was a rope and I just told him "No! Frayed Knot."
Happy pigtrails to you!  Poinker gives 5 oinks for this one.  pinkpigy@aol.com

Oinks and Snorts

Hello again piglets,
I got curious about something in the inside workings of this blog and I found out that I can get reactions from you dear little oinkers.  My friend Poinker the Oinker has informed me that if you go down to bottom of the posts there should be a small square icon with the word 'Reactions" next to it - you should see oinks and snorts. Click on the box so it is checked and see what you can do.

I know you would like to see a pigture of Poinker the Oinker so here you go.  He is my mentor and informer friend of way back when he was just a little piglet himself.

So busy and hot, hot, hot here in Phoenix Arizona

Top of the mornin' to all of you piglets out there.  Wear green so you don't get pinched!
It has been hot the past few days (as high as 90).  We need to be in the low 80s to feel the spring effect, but if we jump too high, it will likely be a long, hot summer.  We are living in a desert and this is normal for the desert - just not for us folks who are living in it.  Aaaahhhh, just a little wallow in the mud and this pinkpigy will be cooled down and thank goodness for modern conveniences. After last night, we are thinking of turning the air conditioning on.  Blah! (I mean, snort, snort!)

I've been busy.  Cleaning the craft room (not done yet); working on Saturday's club projects (these are done and just need to clean up the kitchen/family room area for Saturday; working on sale items (on going projects - just feel like its going no where fast); and of course, family things like picking girls up from school and attending track meets.  I haven't had enough to 'root' around for finding any good corn cobs or slop that someone has tossed to me.  So, back to cleaning.

Well, here are a couple of pigtures for you to see what I have been doing:

This one is of the matchbox dresser using Peach Parfait.  The little flowers are not Stampin' Up! but I am in the process of learning to make them.  I was in a crunch at the last minute and had to do something to finish my Dazzlin' Divas swap. Me bad!!!!!  However, pushing back the drawers and side in place, it looks better.

These are little metal tins with a candle inside.  I used the Patterns Designer Series Paper Packs.
I stamped flowers using the Vintage Vogue stamp set and Perfect Plum ink and then cut the flowers out and layered them together. Pearls line the perimeter.   I ran Pear Pizzazz cardstock through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing foler and then punched the butterfly with the butterfly punch.  The flowers were also done from Vintage Vogue and Pear Pizzazz ink. Clearly for You "for you" is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and sponged around the edges and then punched with the small oval punch and popped up with dimensionals.  You can put a tealight in the small tin or anything that will fit inside (jewelry, tags, choc-o-late).
Ribbon is 1/8" Whisper White and Very Vanilla.

So, I must get going now.  Back to projects.
Happy pigtrails to you, pinkpigy@aol.com

Off my blog for a few days

Well, I am making a trip over to my Piglet#1's home today to do craft stuff.  This will be the first time we have played at her house.  Every other time has been over here at my home.  It feels strange but kind of nice not to have to go fetch and dig for this/dig for that.

I just hope we get something accomplished.  So, be back probably Monday.  Sunday is a day of rest.

Want to join my Stamp Club.  Locally, you attend once a month or every other month (depending on the group decision of when we will meet).  Long distance, means you don't physically attend - you get the projects (completed for you or prepped and stamped and you put them together - instructions included).
Let me know if you are interested.  This applies only to new members.  Current members can join one or both but must stay in the current club until renewal time (June, 2011).

Apology Accepted

I received a phone call from Barb B. from the Mesa Spring Fling Event.  The story has been set straight and I am happy to report I am okay now and back on track.
It was not an event coordinator who approached me at the Spring Fling event; it was another vendor who had brought security with her.  And, she was not going to do anything until a fellow employee and customer kept nudging her.  So,  it is all settled.  I am happy the way our phone conversation went and things are on track again.

Now, to get on with some neat pigtures.  Here is what the pile of boxes were from a couple days ago posting.  This was my swap for the Dazzlin' Divas last night.  WOW is the word.

These are available for purchase for $10.00 plus $5.00 postage/handling charges.  Email me at pinkpigy@aol.com with your name and complete address.  Check/money order/cash only. I will give you details.
Choose your color(s) or I will choose for you and send it out.

Stinkin' cute, heh!  Maybe I should have a class.  I started a tutorial.  If I get enough interest I just might finish it and have it available.  It might be lengthy, however, worth it because it will be very detailed.

I will post a single pigture later. Right now I have to go play in the craft room.  Happy pigtrails to you,

Busted at the Mesa Spring Fling

What????!!!  Yep, first time in my whole life!  The event coordinator and security approached me and asked to see in my handbag.  A customer saw me and "believed I had put a product from a vendor table without paying for it".  Let me tell you how upset I was.  I was calm while being interrogated in front of Piglet#1 and a small crowd that had gathered.   What a crock!!!!!! Quite embarrassed to say the least.
Well, we left.  That was an expensive $7.00 each for less than 30 minutes.  We will not be going back to that one again.  I sent an email to the contact person and demanded  our admission back.
I was cleared of any crime so Life is Good.

I guess sadness comes in threes

I will try to post the pigture from yesterday's pigture but I need to post this one first.
Okay, now I know I said less texting - more pigtures.  Today, I have to share something very disturbing to me.  Most of you who know me do know I am very sensitive to family and friend issues.  I have been holding this announcement in and I still get emotional about it.

Our Son, Travis and our daugther-in-law, Melissa are separating.  I can hardly even put this in writing, but I know many of you have been through something like this, too.  I am open to suggestions on how to cope.  I think I'm doing the best I can.  I never wanted either of our children to give up and go separate ways.  I can't understand why they can't work together and make it work. I think alot of it is just plain selfishness and not trying to be a team. Just another stopping point and move on to the next possibility. Perhaps not working on a solution to make the relationship stronger but just wanting what each other wants for themselves and not what's best for the home unit. Probably not..... I know adults will survive in the best way they can.  It's the grandchildren.  While Colton is not our biological grandson; we have considered him our grandson anyway. We don't see him as much as we would like because he is shared between Melissa and his biological Dad.
He is 12 and that's an age where most kids don't want to be around some of us "old" people. Hahahaha!
Raina is Travis and Melissa's daughter.  That's just heartbreaking to us.  Melissa travels alot and doing her thing and he is always here to give the "Mr Mom" tasks.   Anyway, I know they have to work it out between themselves.  I have my opinions but I will keep them to myself or in the circle of close family and friends.
I've got my great strength and support from above and everyone right here in my life.
Thank you dear friends.  I need it now.   pinkpigy@aol.com

Oh My Goodness!

Can you believe it has been this long between my postings?  Shame on me!

Well, I have been so busy with family and doing Stampin' Up! projects, I just didn't think about getting on my blog.  More and more people are visiting and I thank you all for taking the time to drop in.  I hope my blog is worthy of your viewing.  I try to make it cool and give fun stuff and great photos.  I hope you will pass on my blog site to others.

So, to get back in the groove (and I did promise to make my texting less and more pigtures), so here we go.

Can you guess what this pigture is?  All daylong today, I made these with the Big Shot and Matchbox die.
Designer Series Paper is from the Soft Subtles Pattern Collection.

I will post the final product tomorrow.  I am making these for Thursday night's Dazzlin' Divas downline meeting for my swap.  I doubt that any of them will cruise onto my blog so I am 99% safe in posting it.

Okay, now, look at these pigtures of our last Saturday's Stamp Camp.  We had fun..... laughed, stamped, watched demos on products and techniques, ate Krispy Kreme donuts, and any other snacks we could find.
Alot of comments but most of all the favorite:  "for $18.00, this is way over the top of cards we made".  HINT:  watch in the next few days samples of the cards we made.  You can still order them for $18.00 + $5.00 Shipping)
Thanks everyone for coming and with their permission to post their pigture, here they are:
The lighting isn't the best, but the pigtures came out clear.

Starting at their own pace.  Piglet#1 is standing and helping.  Good job, too.

Who loves to stamp and all we made were cards, cards, cards, and more cards.

Linda and Roberta are singing our theme song:
"We are stampers, everywhere we goooooo; people want to knowwwww..... so we tell them - we are the stampers! The mighty, mighty stampers.   NOT!

Maribel, Janet, and Sammie
Sally is busy concentrating on her card.
Marisol and Maribel - sisters. Working so diligently on making their cards.

So, there you have it.  Can't wait for the next event (probably coming in May (14th, so watch for it and plan to attend).
